Education

I graduated from Grove City College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in French & PreK-12 Education. To complete this degree, I took a variety of intermediate and advanced French classes focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I also took a variety of math classes in high school and college, receiving As from Pre-Algebra to Calculus 3. I studied abroad at the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour in Pau, France for 3.5 months in 2014. On top of taking classes completely in French, I stayed with a French host family while living there. I completed my required semester of student teaching at Slippery Rock Area High School in Slippery Rock, PA. I taught French 1, 2, 3, and AP French (year 4). My overall GPA was 3.8; my major GPA was 4.0; my GPA for my pedogogy classes was 3.9; my GPA for my math classes was 4.0. In college, I was awarded 1st place for a French writing competition between Junior and Senior French majors twice - once as a Junior and once as a Senior.

Experience

I enjoy tutoring because I am passionate about French and math, and I love teaching students of all ages! I highly enjoyed both my student teaching and professional teaching experiences. Teaching people about France and how to speak French brings me a lot of joy. As an educator with experience in front of large and small classes, I can attest to the fact that individual instruction is a much better way to learn any subject, especially a foreign language! While my true passion is French, I enjoy the technical thinking strategies that math promotes and I have experience instructing students individually in Algebra. French Qualifications: I am certified in French PreK-12 in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Copies of my certificates are available upon request. I taught French for one year at Northern High School in Owings, MD. I taught French 1, 2, 3, 4, Advanced French (year 5), and AP French (year 6). I used a variety of instructional techniques and my students completed a variety of fun projects! I was well-liked by my students, colleagues, and superiors, as well. On top of this, I tutored students taking French at Grove City College during my Senior year as a member of Alpha Mu Gamma, a highly selective World Language honor society. Math Qualifications: I tutored students taking math courses at Grove City College for one year. In addition, because there were so many students compared to math teachers at Northern High School, I tutored students in Algebra throughout the entire year.

Hobbies

First and foremost, I am very passionate about France and its culture! I spend a lot of time corresponding with people I met in France and maintaining my own French skills. On top of that, I am a (very) amateur volleyball player and I have recently taken up running as well!
